Emotional Hangover

After sobering up, I learned that addiction isn’t a one way path. It comes in all shapes and forms and it is not a bad idea to sober up other aspects of my life as well. Like emotions.

Why do we get the “out of the blue” emotional tornado? My theory is that emotions like everything else, are deeply connected to our mission. They try to appear in different moments, through different paths. We just keep shutting them down. I see them as fairies working all together for our highest purpose while our ego mind keeps trying to beat them up with serious numbing mechanisms. Then, the fairies become more powerful and gather more strength so that they can shake our existence and be of service for us when we do not see. When we get numbed.

With emotions, there comes a point of no return. Either we lose it all or we lose it all. This chapter of the story becomes pretty painful. We start seeking for therapists, psychiatrists, alcohol, weed, cbd, cheap relationships that feed the ego. If you are cery lucky, you will find amazing results through people that DO NOT fear the messages of the body. People that cannot rely on  immediate solutions to shortcut the path towards a sacred life changing,  an awakening.

We just don’t know how to pay the price for change. We don’t want to look “failed” in front of others. We seek approval through predesigned ways of living that are socially accepted to feel like we belong. We pay the price of belonging to the outside leaving the inside semi death while the resilient fairies keep waking us up. We pay prices in material things like credit card APRs but we do not learn how to pay the price of investing in our life. In our existing life. NOW. We feel like anything we do for ourselves is selfish because that is the way the genetic coding works. We just want to belong through inherited rules no one questioned before. Too piscean.

There is a big relationship in the way we manage our emotional freedom to reach financial freedom that no one talks about. The happier we are, the more productive we become, the more productive we become, the happier we are. As long as we generate genuine real deep abundance through deep listening of these fairies. Sometimes this abundance requires leaving, sometimes it requires staying. Only the fairies know. As long as we listen, we are fine. Then, we take action. Then we change our lives forever. The fairies will create more magic because they will be happy and fed. They will nurture your soul like no other drug or pill. They will let you know when and how. They will accompany you sober in deep acceptance and surrender while life happens and you suniai, you listen. They will guide your life they will surf the tsunamis with immense magic.

You are not that important

When the heart is overwhelmed, the only option we have to keep going is prayer and service. We already know what prayer, according to me, means: vibrations of healing, love, empowerment, and peace. Prayer is self talk while we connect with our highest level of consciousness and the Universe.

Life is not about us, even if it hurts we are not that important to make our will happen. The only real choice we have is to decide living from love. This starts from self love.

Self love is already a very deep journey because we have ancestral wounds and lacks. We all went through war with our grandparents, we go through debt, we all went or go through addiction through close friends, we all go through terror reading or feeling the news that keep making us decide a life from fear as if our desitions happen just because we desire them.

We are all conditioned to achieve, to avoid, to lie, to live double standard paths because we all fear the myth of not enough and prefer the consequences built up for us not from us.

Self love is that deep listening to the Universe’s call. That space were you need no dates, no excessive money, food, degrees, or relationships. Self love is the best marriage and friendship we can gift ourselves. Being sure that there is no need to look for outside resources when it comes to the Universe’s will. Then everything else becomes a gift, it becomes extra because we do not need anything to live but love. 

In the Spiritual path, the only real choice we have is Love. Self reliance becomes automatic because we start relying on the current of dharma. This is what respecting the laws of abundance mean.

We cannot alter the timing of our destiny, there is absolutely no point on doing that. The shortcomings will take us back to the point where we need to rebuild everything from scratch, but this time, through time. Through deeper listening.

Rendirse o cumplir…

Desde que comencé a vivir y trabajar en los doce pasos de Alcoholicos Anónimos aprendí a entender mi emocionalidad y espiritualidad desde otra perspectiva. La reflexión que constantemente llega a mi mente es ¿cómo se si ya me rendí y no solamente estoy cumpliendo? ¿Cómo se si ya fue suficiente con cualquiera que sea la situación en la que vivo?

Muchos de nosotros estamos intentando “dejar algo o a alguien” y a veces esa voz que siempre nos habla, pregunta: ¿para qué?

Todos tenemos un problema grave de adiccion y todos estamos “mal de los nervios” como mucha gente dice. Y el alcohol, la comida, esa relación, el dinero… son síntomas de una espiritualidad ignorada. Del llamado del alma al que tanto miedo nos da escuchar pero que cuando lo hacemos, encontramos la verdadera libertad.

Lo que pasa en el inconsciente una vez que “tocamos fondo” es un misterio. He presenciado cientos de conversiones y sigo sin entender cómo es que suceden… lo que se es que tocar fondo sin rendirse, sirve de nada. El resultado de ese fondo, cualquiera que sea, es rendirse. Por mas que intento encontrar bibliografía a cerca del “rendirse” no logro poder ver mas a fondo. Para mi rendirse es desde el todo. Rendir la existencia y el ser. De otra manera, es solamente ser sumisos. Y ser sumisos nos lleva al compromiso a medias. Aceptar la realidad por completo, nos relaja, nos sana. Rendirse lleva a la aceptación a la transformación.

Para entender la aceptación hay que sentir la falta de fuerza, revolcarse en el dolor en profundo diálogo con el ego y las heridas. Todos los humanos tenemos la capacidad de aceptar. Victor Frankl lo describe en su teoría y en su libro muy detalladamente. Kubler Ross lo narra desde vivencias profundas. Pinkola Estes lo transmite y Bill Wilson lo regala al mundo desde el impresionante libro y manual para alcohólicos.

La aceptación deja a los culpables de lado. Los deja ser y los deja vivir como son. La aceptación se puede convertir en un estado mental. No es fácil. Para aceptar hay que estar convencidos. Mucha gente cree que aceptar va de la mano con la fuerza de voluntad. Esto nos deja en un estado de parálisis y no nos deja sanar. La aceptación en mi caso llega después de permitirme sentir y explorar mi intuición. Después de encontrar mi círculo de confianza y compartir cómo me siento. La aceptación ya no toma en cuenta los prejuicios porque ya no le importa el qué dirán. Solo quiere sanar y liberar eso que está atrapado y no nos deja ser.

Cumplir

Para cumplir hay que estar convencidos a la mitad. Cumplir es superficial y no lleva a aceptar. Lleva a ser “bien visto”. Aquí entra el discurso “mi amigo estuvo en AA y no sirve”… las borracheras secas, síndromes de abstinencia, emocionalidad adictiva sin la lubricación de la sustancia. La aceptación parcial no es completa. No lleva a todo el ser a ser.

La vida espiritual como vida

Rezar, perdonar, aceptar, asumir, pedir… no solo se lleva a cabo en juntas o meetings de AA o en el salón de yoga o en la Iglesia. La vida espiritual se lleva al trabajo, a las amistades, a las relaciones de pareja, al dinero. Tenemos la idea de que los doce pasos son “etéreos” pero en realidad son guía para el autocontrol desde el autoconocimiento. No basta con reconocer, no basta con entender desde la razón y no ser razonable. Hay que enseñar al inconsciente a aceptar y no solo enseñarle porque no somos tan poderosos todavía ni creo que lo lleguemos a ser nunca. Hay que pararse en la humildad, conectar el corazón y pedir por el regalo de la desesperanza para encontrar consuelo en lo que sea que el Universo envíe a través de otros. Estar pendientes de los mensajes que llegan minuto a minuto todos los días. Abrir la mente y el corazón para transformar el camino. Cumplir bloquea la transformación. Cumplir es decir “si” por fuera y “no” por dentro. Para esta situación, encuentro muy util preguntarme ¿qué estoy dispuesta a prometer?  Y con la respuesta me doy cuenta si cumplo o me rindo con toda el alma para vivir sin máscaras.

Since the beginning of time, mental illness has been used as a powerful political weapon against those seeking or operating social change. A lot of the bogus definitions given for so-called madness were invented on the twentieth century by quack psychologist and were then used unscrupulously by those in authority to dismiss and often punish those who dared to question their reality. In truth, terms like ‘schizophrenia’, ‘neurotic’, and ‘paranoid’, mean little more than what any particular, or not so particular, individual chooses them to mean. There are no physical proofs for any of these conditions. The definitions very from psychiatrist to psychiatrist and are totally different from one country to another. Because of these very variable standards, the chances of being diagnosed schizophrenic in America are far higher than are in Britain. This led one unusually illuminated psychiatrist to suggest that the best cure for many American mental patients would be to catch a flight to Britain. The label of mental illness is a method of dealing with individuals, from unwanted relatives to social critics who, through not accepting the conditions imposed upon them by outsiders, are seen as nuisances and trouble makers.
The works of psychologist, notably Freud, and the many schools of perverts who follow their teachings, have, by isolating ‘states of mind’ and defining some of them as ‘states of madness’, excluded all sorts of possible developments in the way in which we see, or could see, our reality. By allowing people to learn from the experience of their so-called madness rather than punishing them for it, new radical ways of thought could be realized and engaged with, new perspectives created and new horizons reached. How else has the human mind grown and developed? Nearly all the major advances in society have been made by people who are criticised, ridiculed and often punished in their own time, only to be celebrated as great thinkers years after their deaths. As mental and physical health becomes increasingly controllable with drugs and surgery, we come ever closer to a world of hacked about and chemically processed Mr. and Mrs. Normals whose only purpose in life will be to mindlessly serve the System. From then on, cultural progress will cease and the mind-fuckers will finally have won their battle against the human spirit.

Once labeled ‘mad’, a patient may be subjected to a whole range of hideous torturers politely referred to by The National Health Service as cures. They are bound up in belts, harnesses and strait-jackets so that their bodies become bruised and their spirits beaten. They are locked up in silent padded-cells so that the sound of their own heartbeat and the smell of their own shit breaks them down into passive animals. They are forced to take psychotropic drugs that make them into robot-like zombies. One common side-effect of long-term treatment with these drugs is severe swelling of the tongue. The only effective cure is surgical. The tongue is cut out. What better way to silence the prophet? They are given electric shocks in the head that cause disorientation and loss of memory. ECT, electroconvulsive therapy, is an idea adopted from the slaughterhouse where pigs are stunned with an identical form of treatment before having their throats cut. ECT is a primitive form if punishment that owes more to the traditions of the witch hunts than it does to any tradition of science. The ultimate cure, the tour de force of the psychiatric profession, is lobotomy. Victims of this vile practical joke have knives stuck into their heads that are randomly waggled about so that part of the brain is reduced to mincemeat. The surgeons who perform this operation have no precise idea what they are doing. The brain is an incredibly delicate organ about which very little os known, yet these butchers feel qualified to poke knives into people’s heads in the belief that are performing scientific and medical services. Patients who are given this treatment frequently die from it. With rare exceptions, those who don’t die can never hope to recover from the state of mindlessness that has been deliberately imposed upon them.
Disgusting experiments are daily performed both on animals and humans in the name of medical advance. There is no way of telling what horrific new forms of treatment are at this moment being devised for us in the thousands of laboratories throughout the country. In Nazi Germany, the inmates of the death camps were used by drug companies as guinea pigs for new products. Nowadays the drug companies, some of which are the very same ones, use prisoners in jails and hospitals for the same purposes. Mental patients are constantly subjected to the ignorance both of the State and the general public and, as such, are perhaps the most oppressed people in the world. In every society there are thousands upon thousands of people locked away in asylums for doing nothing more than question imposed values, dissidents dismissed by the label of madness and silenced, often for ever, by the cure.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Vinyasa

A more vigorous practice linking breath to movement. Classes usually incorporate music.  Derived from Ashtanga – this practice builds, strength, stamina and balance. Our teachers ensure that postures are accessible to everybody and offer more advanced modifications if the student wishes to engage further. Our International Master Teacher and founder, Colin Wolpert ‘s signature classes are Vinyasa based. A fun time to be had by all.

Kundalini

Kundalini Yoga is a technology brought to the west by Yogi Bhajan. This technology can change the way you experience life. It has the potential to connect your mind, body and spirit with the universal consciousness. It is known to strengthen your nervous system and calm your nerves. This technology was designed to be shared with special, powerful people to remind themselves of who they are.

Yin

Yin classes are relaxing and have little active movement. Instead are a series of poses held for 3-5minutes. Poses are passive, targeting the hips, pelvis, inner thighs, lower spine and sometimes shoulders. Yin yoga is said to address connective tissue and fascia.

Meditation

The art of being ok with your mind continuing to do what it does, while you respectfully observe it and derive comfort in the stillness of watching. There are a multitude of modalities from open to closed eye practices and a plethora of techniques to explore.

Iyengar

Iyengar Yoga is a specific form of hatha yoga with an emphasis on detail, precision and alignment. The development of strength, mobility and stability is gained by practicing asana (poses). These classes are wonderful to gain specific insight to poses and to learn the basics as well as master the not so basic. 

Hatha

All physical yoga is hatha yoga. In the west, we often refer to hatha classes as less vigorous physical practices. Hatha yoga consists of poses that are accessible by everybody with simple transitions and attention to being present.

Ashtanga

Ashtanga yoga is the father of modern day vinyasa yoga, also linking breath to movement. It follows a specific sequence of postures and is divided into series.

Kids Yoga

Kids yoga is one of our passions. We believe that introducing kids to the technology of yoga as soon in their lives as possible is how we will change the world. Our students range from 2 month old babies to 12 year olds. Classes are age appropriate and delineated so as to derive the most benefit for the age group.

Sculpt

Sculpt is a combination of cardio movement and yoga poses to tone and strengthen the body. It is less meditative and more aerobic, giving the practitioner all the benefits of a raised heart rate whilst enjoying yoga poses.
