It’s time for #tutorialtuesday , demonstrated this week by @thelimberlinguist•The pose of the week is Utkata Konasana or Goddess Pose! This pose builds both strength and flexibility in our legs and hips•To do this pose:- Take your feet 3-4 feet apart, the exact distance will depend on your proportions as we are all built a little bit differently- Turn your toes out so they are parallel to the wide edge of your mat- Squat down, lowering your hips until your thighs are parallel to the earth. This may take a few breaths!- Tuck your tailbone down towards the earth and sit back slightly towards your heels. We tend to lean forward in this pose by default- Take hands to the knees, overhead, at heart center; this part is really just ‘window dressing’ as our owner @feetfaceforward would say. Find your favorite arm variation and hold that with the pose- Optional: go up onto your top toes to add an extra balance challenge in there!- Not Optional: breathing! Every inhale lift further out of your core and every exhale keep lowering your hips to the earth•It’s normal to feel your legs shake a lot in this pose it’s a deeply opening pose and takes a lot of strength to hold. Try to hold it for at least 3-5 breaths. The Sanskrit translates literally to: Fierce Angle Pose; so be fierce 🏼•Let us know what tutorials you want down below!•#shinealivenow#cyogastudio#feetfaceforward
